MAKING PREDICTIONS & STORY ELEMENTS
Making predictions is an important literacy skill! It shows students' ability to inference, using the pictures in the story, and to dig deep into their own insights.
Identifying story elements activities have students learning about the basic structure of the story and book.
OPINIONS & MENTAL IMAGES
Students are encouraged to share their opinions about events in the story. It's always fun to compare and contrast the responses!
Students will visualize a part of the text, making a mental image of what they think it may look like.
Another fun activity has students imagining the story in its opposite form...what if Alexander had a Wonderful, Amazing, Terrific, Very Good Day?!
Students will answer questions about the story, using evidence from the book to support their answers.
Students are assessed on their understanding of the story with comprehension pages included in the pack.
And this craftivity is the perfect way to finish off the book study!
