Friday Favorites: Our Favorite Writing Center Tools!

Favorite writing center tools for the classroom
My students always LOVE to write- especially when they get to use fun tools :)

Here are five of our favorite tools in our writing center that make writing more fun!
LAP TRAYS
Keep your writing center stocked with these 5 tools, and your students will LOVE creating their writing masterpieces!
Lap trays are great tools to have on hand in the writing center! Students can work anywhere in the room (or hall!) and can keep all of their writing tools and paper in the handy side compartments.
STICKERS

I have a small bucket of stickers in my writing center. Kids love to add them to their pages, then write about the pictures as part of their stories.

Clipboards offer students the opportunity to move about the classroom with their writing. They can work on a writing piece or use them to 'write the room',

DATE STAMP

I keep a date stamp in my writing center so that students can stamp the date on their work before they begin. It's a fun way for them to do it, and it makes it easy to keep their work in order...we love going through their writing portfolios later to see the progress being made!
STAPLER

For some reason a lot of my students love to write 'books'! So I started to keep a stapler in the writing center, so that when their stories are completed, illustrations are done, and a cover is added, they can staple it all together and make it look like a book. They love to read each other's stories...which is the whole point of writing! :)

  2. I got the lap trays at Hobby Lobby (in the US). I think they were around $6.99 each. Hope that helps!
