JUNIE B JONES ONE MAN BAND
In Junie B Jones One Man Band by Barbara Park, Junie B Jones is excited about the upcoming school kickball tournament! Only there is one problem- she hurt her toe kicking her mother's watering can (that was filled with water). Ouch! And then a dictionary falls on it during class. Ouch again!
Junie B Jones is very disappointed that she won't be able to play in the kickball tournament after all. But her teacher has an idea. She can join a fellow classmate and do a halftime show!
Junie B Jones decides that she will juggle during the halftime show. She does not know how to juggle, but she has three days to figure it out. She will also accompany her classmate Sheldon on a woodblock while he sings for the halftime show and clashes the cymbals.
The day of the kickball tournament finally arrived. A big crowd came out to watch the game. When it was halftime, Junie B was very nervous. Sheldon got stage fright. He dropped his cymbals and ran away. Junie B was left by herself, tapping her woodblock. Sheldon never came back. The crowd began to laugh and jeer. So Junie B grabbed Sheldon's cymbals and clapped them together to make the crowd go quiet.
Some people began to throw food at Junie B. She bent down and picked some up and began to juggle it! The crowd started to clap and cheer at her juggling show.
Junie B felt very proud of herself for being the star of the show. Not the kickball star that she had been hoping for, but the halftime star!
Sheldon was later found hiding behind a bush. Junie B's parents were very proud of her for her unexpected performance and bravery in a tough situation.
