Well, October's here and it's time to break out the fall books and activities!
One of those fall favorites is Little Boo by Stephen Wunderli. It's the story of a pumpkin seed that just can't wait to grow up and be jack o' lantern, so he can scare everyone!
I always have students make text-to-self connections. Little Boo is not ready to be a jack o' lantern yet....what is something you are too small to do?
Little Boo tries to scare MANY things in the story...great for sequencing the story's events!
Little Boo is SO impatient! What is some advice we can give him?
The story takes Little Boo from seed to pumpkin. It's great for learning about the pumpkin's life cycle! Colored sorting cards are included to sequence the cycle, as shown in the story.
