Little Boo

Well, October's here and it's time to break out the fall books and activities! One of those fall favorites is Little Boo by Stephen Wunderli. It's the story of a pumpkin seed that just can't wait to grow up and be jack o' lantern, so he can scare everyone!

Your Kindergarten and First Grade students will relate to Little Boo's impatience as he seems to be not big enough to do all the things he wants to do!

Little Boo is a pumpkin seed. He can't wait to grow up an be a jack o'lantern, so he can go around scaring everyone. But he's not big enough yet, and this makes him feel very frustrated. The book Little Boo is a sweet story your students will relate to in that sense. This read aloud is also great for a fall, Halloween, or pumpkin theme because it takes us through the life cycle of a pumpkin, making it cross-curricular. Colored sorting cards are included to sequence the cycle, as shown in the story.
