WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE
What child doesn't love Max and the Wild Things? Maybe you remember loving the book as a child, too!
Max is acting wild, and is sent to his room without supper. His room transforms into a jungle, and he sails away to an island of 'Wild Things'. He becomes the King of Wild Things!
And, of course the best part of the book...they have a WILD RUMPUS! :)
Might as well make some text-to-self connections during that part!
Max goes through a range of emotions and senses...great for a character analysis.
It's always fun to get the kids' opinions! And I love how they visualize parts of the text in their minds as they make mental images...everyone is so different!
I love having students take a little piece of the story and then use it as a springboard to write their own!
