One of my favorite fall books is When the Leaf Blew In by Steve Metzger.
Not only is it a great seasonal fall book, but it is action-packed...and funny!
There are so many literacy activities that teachers can sneak in as they have students hooked into this book. :)
I just love books that take place on the farm!
I think this book is FANTASTIC for introducing cause and effect! One thing happens as a result of another...and so on.
It's also great for sequencing...what comes first, next, etc.
Text-to-self connections help students have deeper understanding, and allows them to relate to the characters in the story.
