A BAD CASE OF TATTLE TONGUE
A good book for primary grades, especially for the beginning of the school year, is A Bad Case of Tattle Tongue by Julia Cook. It's great for teaching your students the difference between tattling and reporting :)
In the book, Josh is told that if he tattles a lot, he will grow a 'tattle tongue'. The story goes on to explain what the difference between tattling and reporting is...which is very helpful info for Kindergarten and First Grade students!
A BAD CASE OF TATTLE TONGUE ACTIVITIES AND TEACHING IDEAS

A BAD CASE OF TATTLE TONGUE | THE TATTLE RULES CHART
I love this book for those years where you need to discuss tattling vs reporting to your class! One important component in this unit is this handy poster of the 'Tattle Rules'. This is a great chart to hang in the classroom, to remind students about the difference between tattling and reporting :)
This book study unit can be used as a whole class activity, during small group guided reading time, as individual student work, or as part of a book club. Copy a pack for each student and you're ready to go!
A Bad Case of Tattle Tongue is a great book for the beginning of the school year OR a great refresher for later in the year when the class needs reminding!
