Can you believe that Eric Carle's book The Very Hungry Caterpillar turned 50 this year?!

It's the perfect book for spring and for a bug theme. This read aloud makes a wonderful springboard for learning about the life cycle of a butterfly in Kindergarten and First Grade.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar is a children's book that has stood the test of time! Students today still LOVE this book 50 years later, and how the hungry caterpillar changes from a tiny egg to a beautiful butterfly.

I've created a fun activity pack to go with this book. It's packed with literacy activities like story sequencing, a vocabulary word search, and a story retell. It's Common Core aligned, and perfect for Kindergarten and First Grade.

The book activities can be used for whole class learning, during small group guided reading time, as individual student work, or as part of a book club!
